Aideon (Speculative Design Project) 

This is Part 1 of our Senior Showcase for Design and Visual Communication Majors. We had to create a future invention. 

Aideon Description:
AI has influenced a lot of jobs and artists recently, such as changing the processes or techniques they use. So, I thought about what AI could turn into in the future. Instead of thinking about "robots taking over", I took the "robots are our friends" approach. When people think of robots they think of them life-sized, similar to a human, and that's very intimidating. So, if this robot was small like a keychain accessory, it would be much less intimidating and much more comfortable or inviting. Since this design is made to be personalized to a specific person’s needs, then anyone can really have one. It could be a sick person, who needs constant reminders or get handed their medicine, get vitals or blood pressure checked, etc. It could also be a student who needs help with keeping up with lectures and homework. The bot could also just be a small friend for social needs like chatting and listening. They are also built with tracks to move around if you want to take them off the keychain occasionally. 

In the future, I don’t see everyone having huge robots in their house or taking over jobs, I think having them made to help people and have them look less intimidating would be more successful. As they are also customizable with accessories, colors, and maybe even outfits, it all depends on the person.
